Serving Christ in His Kingdom embraces all of life
“When Jesus calls us to new life in him, each believer receives a set of spiritual gifts (Rom. 12, 1 Cor. 12) and a calling to use those gifts wherever God leads him or her. So Paul says in 1 Cor. 10:31, “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Now not every believer is called to be a preacher. Many are called to be farmers, homemakers, salespeople, government officials, artists. So in Scripture we read of people seeking to follow God’s word as herdsmen (Abraham), as slaves (Joseph), as rulers (David), as government officials (Daniel) as well as prophets (Isaiah) and evangelists (Paul). The church must expound God’s word in such a way as to help people in all walks of life to serve Jesus and to testify of his grace.” -- Dr. John Frame
